Love the outdoors in Charnwood!

Charnwood is home to a range of beautiful parks, ancient woodlands and open spaces which is why we have launched the Love the Outdoors in Charnwood campaign to showcase some of the spectacular places to visit in the borough.

The campaign encourages people to spend time outside in the fresh air, explore the beautiful outdoor spaces on their doorstep and enjoy being amongst nature.

Whether you enjoy listening to the morning birdsong at the Outwoods, meeting friends for a picnic at Bradgate Park or taking a short walk at Watermead Country Park, there are plenty of places to visit across the borough.

And one of the key aims of the campaign is to highlight Charnwood’s hidden gems such as Morley Quarry in Shepshed and Booth Wood in Loughborough.

The Council manages 617 acres of open space in Charnwood including Stonebow Washlands, the Outwoods and Dishley Pool just to name a few.

There are also many other much-loved sites in the borough managed by partners including Bradgate Park (Bradgate Park Trust), Watermead Country Park (Leicestershire County Council and Leicester City Council) and Cossington Meadows (Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust)
