If you are receiving Housing and/or Council Tax Benefit and your circumstances, or those of any member of your household, change you must tell the benefits service immediately to ensure you continue to receive the correct amount of benefit.
You must tell us within a month of the change happening.

If you don't let us know you within that time and the change means you are entitled to more benefit, your benefit will only be adjusted from the Monday after you did let us know. This means you will lose out on benefit you could have had.
If the change means you are entitled to less benefit the longer you wait to tell us about the change, the more money you are likely to have to pay back. overpayments
