Council Tax Benefit
These are benefits paid by Charnwood Borough Council to help reduce your Council Tax bill. These payment are made in line with government legislation.
You can claim Council Tax benefit if you are the person or one of the people liable to pay the council tax charge on the property you are living in. Click here for further information about Council Tax liabilities etc.
Second Adult Rebate
If you share your home with one or more people aged over 18 and you are the only person liable to pay Council Tax you may claim what is known as Second Adult Rebate.
However these other persons must not be:
- Paying a rent to you
- Your partner
- Disregarded for Council Tax Purposes.
Council Tax Benefit and Second Adult Rebate is credited directly to your Council Tax Account.
