New Lighting Columns & Waste Bins.....

Following a request for much more needed lighting on the pathway near Weavers Wynd, which runs between the village green and Broomfield School, a petition signed by over 500 concerned residents, and with the help of our County Councillor, Dave Houseman, 17 street lights have been replaced and a total of 23 new lighting columns have been placed at a cost of £30,000.
All this lighting runs along the busy pathway which leads to the library, school, church, village hall, council office, pub and doctor's. The area is well lit now, a lot safer, and meets current lighting design standards - which the 17 original lighting columns did not.
As well as the new lighting and following a 'walk around' inspection of the village by myself, Liz Pizer (parish clerk), and a Manager from CBC's Cleansing Dept, 4 further waste bins have been secured of which 2 can be located around Sims Public House, 1 at the end of Wild Rose Walk and 1 on Lilac Way.
