New Initiatives for Nanpantan Sports Ground

Cabinet on Thursday 15th May will consider allocating very significant funding to begin the improvements to Nanpantan Sports Ground. This is an important initiative, and future plans include working in co-operation with both the clubs and the Nanpantan Residents - they will all be on an advisory board.

Everyone knows the progress over the past few years has been unbearably slow - often because outside funding circumstances were always changing. With this initiative there will be not only improvements, but the opportunity to work collectively to seek substantial funding from Sports Bodies and others - such as the National Lottery.

This is part of an on-going reappraisal of current sports provision across the town of Loughborough.

These Nanpantan fields and the countryside around form an incredibly attractive setting, nestled in the lea of the Outwoods. We all value them immeasurably, and I will seek to ensure in the years ahead they remain a joy and inspiration for our whole community.
