Update June 2007
Posted Wed 13th June, 2007 by Cllr. Stephen Hampson
I was first elected to Charnwood Borough Council in 2003.I have represented the residents of Syston East in many ways, some personally, and everyone by advancing the Syston Agenda at Charnwood. I am delighted to have been re elected in May 2007 so that I can continue the ongoing work to make Syston a better place to live in , to work in or visit.
Since the last election I am now a member of the controlling administration(Conservative) and will be part of the cabinet where my lead member role is 'Regeneration and Conservation' as well as being 'Design and Heritage Champion' for the Borough.I have joined several project boards across the council including The Town Centre Partnership, Eastern Gateway, Town Centre Strategy and Dishley Grange. The work looks very exciting and will have a tangible effect on the Borough. I will report on my work quarterly or when anything noteworthy occurs.I will be anxious in the coming months to ensure that projects involving other areas of the Borough other than Loughborough are placed on the agenda.
I am also going to be involved with " Competitiveness, Learning & Growth" which will fit in with my involvement at the "Excellent" Loughborough College where I am already a member of the Board of Governors.
I still intend to be an active councillor at Syston Town Council where I am Vice Chairman.
My outside interests apart from the council concern activity for The Conservative Party where I am Chairman of Charnwood Conservatives as well as being Deputy Chairman of The East Midlands Region.
In my free time I am an avid Motor Sport Enthusiast, music buff and enjoy conserving my own period home in the borough.
In spite of all of the above I will always find time to discuss any input from residents of the borough, particularly Syston, who may want to discuss anything relevant to my ability to serve.
feel free to call or E-mail
