Hi all,
Today I've gone green. As a councillor , not surprisingly I receive many messages about the importance of going green. Like most things in life I find it easier to change my behaviour when there is a financial incentive. Water butts are an obvious example where for comparatively little money we can start saving lots of water for use on our gardens. I have just purchased 5 water butts that should be adequate to keep my garden watered throughout summer. After speaking with Severn Trent I worked out I will get my money back in 3 years. I have also taken possession of a cone to place in my garden to take food. This was free from the council and easily installed and will allow me to have more space in my black wheelie thus saving trips to the dump to get rid of surplus. Win win. I 'm saving money, putting less stuff in the ground and saving journeys by car. Like it!
