Forward Plan & Key Decisions
Each month, the Council publishes a Forward Plan for the following four months. The Annual Notice of the Forward Plan of Key Decisions sets out the background to the Forward Plan, the plan periods and the date of pulication.
The Forward Plan sets out matters which it is believed will be the subject of a "key decision" to be taken by the Cabinet for the published period.

What information is included in the Forward Plan?
- Who will be consulted before the decision is taken and how
- What documents will be considered by the Cabinet
- If the decision will be taken in public
- Which Council officer to contact for more information or to make representations
What is a Key Decision?
At the meeting of the Borough Council on 26th April 2004 changes were agreed to the definition of a key decision.
A key decision is an executive decision which is likely:
- To result in the Council incurring expenditure which is, or the making of savings which are, significant having regard to the Council's budget for the service or function to which the decision relates
- To be significant in terms of its effects on communities living or working in an area comprising two or more wards in the Borough
