Performance Management Framework
Effective performance management underpins the delivery of excellent local services. The Performance Management Framework is a framework of strategies, plans, policies, indicators and measures that enable our performance to be effectively and efficiently monitored in an open and transparent way.
Performance management is about:
• Achieving the goals of the organisation and the community
• Prioritising what gets done and making sure there are enough resources to do it
• Ensuring local authorities provide value for money
• Motivating and managing staff
• Providing satisfaction for users and communities

Best Value Performance Plan and Annual report
Our Best Value Performance Plan provides an insight into how we are performing and is produced each year in line with Government requirements.This year for the first time we have produced a combined Annual Report and Best Value Performance Plan.
The Council's current corporate plan, "Leading in Leicestershire", sets out our priorities for the period until 2011/12.

Charnwood Scorecard 2007-08 (Word Document 186 Kb.)
The Charnwood Scorecard is the management system that enables Charnwood to clarify our vision and strategy and translate them into action. It provides us with feedback around both the internal business processes and external outcomes in order to continuously improve our strategic performance and results. In outline it draws our attention to both the results we are producing and the investment necessary in the Council itself to continue to achieve the ambitious targets set out in the corporate plan.
The Scorecard is organised around the Top Twenty goals that the Council wants to reach over the period of the Corporate Plan. These are divided into two groups of ten - the Top Ten things we need to get right and the Top Ten things we need to improve in order to do them well.
