Remembrance Day Parade and Service - Commemorative Film

By arrangement with the Royal British Legion and the Mayor of Charnwood, the 2007 Remembrance Day Parade & Service in Queen’s Park, Loughborough was filmed. The full length DVD of the day’s events is now available for purchase priced at just £8.00.

The film was produced by David Sinclair from Leicester based company, SinVision. David is an ex service man of some 24 years service and has kindly offered that £1 from the sale of each DVD will be donated to the Poppy Appeal.

Opening of the Garden of Remembrance

The Worshipful the Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Joe Tormey, placed the first cross in the Garden of Remembrance in Queens Park during a short service led by the Royal British Legion Chaplain, Rev. David Featonby.

Remembrance Sunday Parade & Service

The Mayor lead the Borough Remembrance at the traditional service at the Loughborough War Memorial, the Carillon Tower in Queens Park. The service included the laying of wreathes and the two-minute silence. The service was conducted by the Royal British Legion Chaplain Rev. David Featonby and Canon David Newman.

Following the service a parade of the uniformed contingents marched through Devonshire Square where the Mayor and the senior military officer, Major Mick Marlow, will took the salute. On reaching the Market Place the parade formed up for Mr. Terry Higgins, Deputy Lieutenant of Leicestershire, to present campaign and long service medals to members of the local Territorial Army who have recently seen active service.
