Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment
Charnwood Borough Council is currently undertaking a Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment to supplement the Charnwood Housing Land Availability Assessment, published in March 2007 and available to view below.
Leicestershire Borough and District Councils and Leicester City Council are all currently undertaking Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessments (SHLAA) in partnership. These assessments will identify future sources of land for housing in line with the requirements of Planning Policy Statement 3: Housing. It should be noted that these assessments do not represent policy and will not determine whether a site should be allocated or granted permission for development.
A joint Leicester and Leicestershire methodology for these assessments can be viewed below, along with the responses to the consultation comments we received. The public notice inviting sites and a site submission proforma can also be viewed below. The assessment will be available to view here when it is published.
