Spring Clean!

Make your pledge!

There are three ways in which you can make your pledge. You can either select as many of the nine pre-written pledges as you wish, you can write your own or you can do both.

You can then e-mail your pledge to us by clicking the submit button below

Pledge One: Do not Drop Litter!
Did you know that in a recent clean up of a small area of Loughborough more than 10 tonnes of litter was picked up by Council workers and partners in only six hours! That is more than the weight of an elephant every hour!

Pledge Two: Do not Use the Car Everyday!
You can reduce greenhouse gas and pollution by taking public transport, running, cycling or just walking. Try leaving the car at home for the day once a week.

  Pledge Three: Pick up Litter!
Just because others do not take pride, does not mean to say you do not have to. Just be careful of Health and Safety and if in doubt ring the Council on (01509) 53 4563.

  Pledge Four: Plant more Plants!
We all know that greenery not only looks nice but is great for the local environment and wildlife, why not make your garden look the part this year?

  Pledge Five: Report Grot-Spots
The Council has targets to remove this kind of debris that can ruin our beautiful countryside and towns, so report it and let us do something about it. The Grot-Spot Identification pages, which will be loaded onto the website soon, should be a great place to report such eye-sores in the future.

  Pledge Six: Involve your Community!
Why not get your neighbours on board? Perhaps you could tidy up some communal land, plant some themed flowers or just promise to take all bins off the street after collection day, by a certain time?

Pledge Seven: Even the smallest thing can make a big difference!

Pledge Eight: Clean out your Garage!
Take advantage of the bulky waste disposal from the Council, contact (01509) 53 4563 to find out more.

  Pledge Nine: Recycle More!
The new red bag system, which has simplified sorting, is a great reason to recycle more and you are helping the environment. Remember all paper products in the red bag now and bottles and cans for the green bag.

(we will not put your whole address on the internet when we post your pledge but it is nice to know where you are from).

Thank you for taking the time to make your pledge(s)!
