We have set Service Standards for a range of the services we provide. These are designed to advise you of the service you can expect from us and we hope you find them useful.
A healthy borough and decent homes are key council priorities.
A new organisation, Charnwood Neighbourhood Housing, has now been formed to manage the Council’s housing stock allowing the Council to focus on the housing needs of the borough as a whole.
We have schemes to support our older people or those with a disability who want to stay in their own homes. but occasionally find it hard to cover the costs of alterations.
We also use the planning system to ensure that any new housing developments provide as many affordable homes as possible.
We understand that many of the services provided by the Council can have a positive effect on peoples' health.
Housing is one of those services and we work closely with both Charnwood & North West Leicestershire Primary Care Trust (PCT) and Melton Rutland & Harborough PCT to ensure that the health of our local population is taken into account when we plan services.
