Housing Association Tenancies

There are a number of people that can help you if you are a Housing Association Tenant having problems with your tenancy. If the problem isn't listed below you should contact your Housing Association in the first instance.

I am Having Problems Paying my Rent

If you are having problems paying your rent you should contact the Housing Benefits Section to see if they are able to assist you. You should also speak to your Housing Association and explain the situation to them. Contact details for all the Housing Associations in Charnwood can be found here.

My Home has Repairs that Need Doing

If there are repairs that need doing to your home you should contact your Housing Association in the first instance. They will probably have given you a phone number to contact when you first moved into your home. If you are in dispute with your Housing Association about a repair issue you can contact the Private Housing Section.

I am Having Problems Maintaining my Tenancy

If you are having problems maintaining your tenancy there are a number of services that may be able to assist you. Tenancy support schemes involve support workers visiting you at home to give support on a wide range of issues to make it easier to manage in your home. For more information on tenancy support schemes you should contact the Bridge Housing Advice Centre or Housing Needs.

Charnwood Lifeline is a scheme allowing the elderly and disabled to maintain an independent lifestyle by providing a link to a Control Centre which is manned by trained operators 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

If your property is no longer suitable for you because it requires adaptations you should contact your Housing Association in the first instance.

I am Suffering Harassment in my Tenancy

If you are being harassed in your tenancy you should contact your Housing Association. If you think a criminal offence may have been committed you should also inform the police. If you feel it is no longer safe for you to remain in your property you should contact the Housing Needs Section.
