Coaching & Child Protection Issues
Coaching & Child Protection Issues
It is important children and parents are aware that coaches are up to date with Child Protection issues and thus it is important they know that a child safe environment is being provided. It is also imperative coaches themselves are aware of issues as to ensure they do not leave themselves open to difficult situations and they know the do's and don't of how to work with children.
The key is ensuring safety for all parties involved in coaching. As a coach, it is your responsibility to ensure you are up to date with the current issues, this means attending a Child Protection Training course.
What Child Protection Training Courses are Available?
Sports Coach UK workshops entitled Good Practice & Child Protection can be accessed through the CoachSteps programme, and the Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland Sports Partnership's "Active Sports Club and Coach Development Programme" , by anyone who wishes to learn more about dealing with Child Protection situations.
