Leisure Services
Leisure Services is part of Leisure and Environment Directorate and can be categorised into five main areas of service delivery: Sports Development, Active Recreation Development, Leisure Centres, Parks, Open Spaces & Wildlife and Ground Maintenance.
Our main priority is "to provide a wide range of cultural and leisure opportunities focused on need."
Service Standards
As part of Charnwood Borough Council's Customer Service Strategy we have set service standards for the services we provide which are published as fact sheets. These Standards detail how our customers will be treated when they contact us and the minimum standards they can expect to receive from each of the individual service areas. Sports Development
The Sports Development Team is part of the Leisure Services Department in the Leisure and Environment Directorate.
Our key aims are:
• To co-ordinate, develop and increase opportunities for all Charnwood residents to participate in positive sport, leisure, health and physical activity initiatives.
• To work in partnership with other sport and leisure related agencies and key community groups to address local sporting issues and needs.

Active Recreation
The Active Recreation Team is part of the Leisure Services Department in the Leisure and Environment Directorate.
Our key aims are:
• To co-ordinate, develop and increase opportunities for all Charnwood residents to participate in positive leisure, health and physical activity initiatives.
• To work in partnership with other health related agencies and key community groups to address local leisure/ health issues and needs
