About the competition

The Council formed a festive team with Fosse 107 and Love Loughborough to run a competition to find a youngster who would like to switch on the town’s festive lights on Sunday November 26, 2023 in front of thousands of people.

Every year Loughborough town centre is packed as people count down to the moment the Christmas lights are turned on and the festive season well and truly begins.

The Council was on the look out for a young person aged 11 or under who would like the honour of flicking the big switch.

Entrants were required to tell us why they thought the nominated young person should Light up Loughborough.

The winner will receive a family ticket for this year's pantomime, Peter Pan at Loughborough Town Hall and a £50 Love Loughborough voucher.
