Mayor's invitation to civic service

THE Mayor of Charnwood has issued an open invitation to residents in every town and parish across the Borough to attend his annual Civic Service.

The service will be conducted by the Mayor’s Chaplian, Reverend Jim Wellington, and will be held in St Peter and St Paul’s Parish Church, Lower Church Street, Syston on Sunday, September 17 at 3pm.

Cllr Pacey said: “I am looking forward to welcoming everybody who is able to join us at the service and I’m delighted to be able to hold it in my home town of Syston.

“I hope that people will be able to attend from right across the Borough and I would be delighted if we could be joined by representatives from each and every town and parish in Charnwood.

“This will be a marvellous opportunity to bring together our widely spread community.”

The service will be followed by afternoon tea in the nearby community centre.
