Easter fun starts with Recreation Services
Date of Release: Wed 15th March, 2006
Charnwood Borough Council’s Easter Activity Programme for 5 – 16 year olds kicks into action on Monday 10th April. Charnwood Borough Council will be once again be out and about across the borough delivering fun, sporty activities to youngsters who are keen to develop their skills or who just want to have fun or try something new.
Activities range from the ever-popular sports such as badminton, golf and football to the more daring such as climbing and trampolining. There is also a fantastic selection of trips available including Ice skating, Hollywood bowl and Mega zone. If you’re a budding David Beckham or Tiger Woods then why not try Mini Soccer or Tri Golf sessions at Rawlins, Wreake and Roundhill Community Colleges. Maybe you want to follow ‘Freddie’ Flintoff and bowl your friends over with your cricketing skills then Kwik Cricket is for you!
New and improved for Easter is our Orienteering session, this is fun for ALL the family, as you work in a team to try and solve clues, following a mapped course at the Outwoods leading to the winning solution. All ages are welcome at this event, from 5+ although under 7s need to be accompanied by an adult, this is the perfect opportunity for the whole family to get involved and have fun!
This Easter sees the Horse Riding sessions relocate to new premises, the Bunny Equestrian Centre at Bunny near East Leake. Here the children will have the opportunity to ride, groom and take part in a fun theory session, looking at topics such as parts of the horse, colours, breeds and so on. So if your child fancy themselves as future Frankie Dettori or Pippa Funnell, make sure they saddle up for this activity!
