YOUR CHARNWOOD, YOUR BOROUGH, YOUR SAY

Date of Release: Wed 27th September, 2006

RESIDENTS are being given the chance to help shape Charnwood Borough Council’s priorities for the future at a series of Talk Back sessions.

The Authority is in the process of revising its Corporate Plan, which directs the Council’s agenda for the next three years.

And everyone in the Borough will have an opportunity to put forward their views on what should be the focus of the document at the Your Charnwood, Your Borough, Your Say sessions.

The Talk Back events all relate to a key service area and there will be opportunities to raise queries and comments.

Cllr Max Hunt, the leader of Charnwood Borough Council, said: “When we visit residents in Parish and Community Halls, talk to friends and neighbours, it’s clear that everyone would like a say in the services that we provide and the priorities we set.

“So, as we begin to sharpen and revise our three-year plan, it’s an ideal chance to make sure that the Council’s priorities fit what people want.

“These sessions are a great opportunity to tell us where your priorities lie. We are also open for comments on the web – www.charnwood.gov.uk – or directly with your local councillor who will be glad to reflect your views. We want to hear from everyone –whether it be comments, compliments or complaints.

“We can’t guarantee to take up every view – some will conflict with others – but everyone’s views will be listened to and put to the Council.”

All the events, which follow a different theme, start at 6.30pm and will be held at:

Community Safety – Thursday, September 28 at Sileby Community Centre
