Extra Chance to Pick up a Bargain

Date of Release: Wed 20th December, 2006

SHOPPERS will get an extra chance to pick up a bargain at Loughborough Market this week.

The traditional market is being staged in the town centre on Thursday (December 21) and Saturday (December 23) as usual.

But traders will be in the Market Place on Friday, December 22 so shoppers have an extra chance to pick up everything they need – whether it is fruit, vegetables or last minute gift ideas – in readiness for Christmas Day.

After Christmas, the market will revert to its normal times of every Thursday and Saturday.

Shepshed Market will take place as usual on Friday (December 22) and will then be in town again on December 29, although there may be limited trader attendance due to stallholders’ commitments and holiday arrangements.

Cllr Sandie Gough, Charnwood Borough Council’s Cabinet member for Leisure and Environment, said: “The markets are extremely popular and it’s great shoppers have an extra chance to pick up everything they need for Christmas.

“It’s vital that our community support the traders and I’d urge everybody to check out what’s on offer – they’ll save themselves a few pounds into the bargain.”
