Budget Consultations 2008/9
In December 2007 the providers of public services in Charnwood joined together to hold two events to communicate their plans for the future to local people. The two events were held on the Monday, 3 December 2007 at Syston Town Council and Tuesday, 4 December 2007 at Loughborough Town Hall.The meetings were designed to provide information and allow residents direct insight into the challenges the four partner agencies faced over the coming 12-months.
Present were Charnwood Borough Council, Leicestershire County Council, Leicestershire Police and Leicestershire and Rutland Primary Care Trust. This was the first time that these organisations had come together to speak directly with residents.

In addition in January 2008 the Borough Council sought views on its budget and service delivery plans for 2008/09. The draft budget and service delivery plans were approved for consultation by Cabinet on 19th December and the consultation period ran until 31st January. The final version was put before Council to approve and set the Council Tax for 2008/09 on 25th February.
The three key documents can be found below. These are a summary of the budget setting out the key points,and full copies of the Cabinet Reports approved on 19th December regarding the Budget and the Councils 2008/09 Service Delivery Plans for each Council Department.
