Adapting Homes

An adaptation is an alteration that will help you or a member of your household live as independently as possible.  It could be minor work like a grab rail or a major work such as a walk in shower.  Adapting your home can be a complex and difficult procedure, however, advice is available for council tenants on the Charnwood Council Housing website and the council may be able to assist with the cost of funding the work on private residencies with a disabled facilities grant.
