Benefits Claims

You can claim by completing one of our claim forms or by completing a claim form for Housing and Council Tax benefit when you apply for Jobseekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support or Pension Credits .

Please Note :- if you are claiming Pension Credits and rent your property from a Housing Assocation or Private Landlord you will still need to complete one of our short forms asking for details of your property and your tenancy as well.

To Get a Claim Form

Contact the Benefits Service to request a form or you can pick one up from the Council Offices at Southfields.

You should return the form as quickly as possible as benefit will usually start from the Monday after the date we receive the form at the Benefits Service. Don't wait to get all the information you need but send the form in straight away and then send the information within one calendar month of sending the form back.
