Council Budgets and Spending
The Financial Services Division manages the Council's accounting systems, financial resources and maintains fiscal integrity. Refer to the Navigation on the left of this page for the relevant links to more information on budgets and financial matters.
The Financial services' scope of responsibilities are shaped by the combined strength of its individual service areas detailed below.
Accountancy
Central accounting - financial and management.
Central Procurement
Provision of advice and guidance for all the Council's procurement activities.
Creditor Payments
Payment of suppliers and all other accounts.
Debtors
Billing, collection and recovery of monies due to the Council - not including Council Tax and Housing Rents.
Housing Advances
Administration, collection and recovery of Council mortgages.
Payroll
Salary payments to staff and councillors.
Treasury Services
The administration of the investment and borrowing of Council funds.
