Charn Wildlife Volunteers

It's official, Nature Conservation Work is good for you. Research carried out by Oxford Brookes University has shown that planting trees, erecting fences, clearing out ponds and controlling wayward vegetation can use up as many calories as a step aerobics class, and not only is the great outdoors a great place to get fit, it’s also a great place to relax. Just being out in the countryside can help to reduce stress levels and, combined with the physical health benefits of exercise, conservation work is a great tonic. The Charnwood Wildlife Volunteers, take part in conservation events throughout the year working on some of the areas most important wildlife sites (see timetable below). Conservation volunteers learn new skills, make new friends and enjoy access to some wonderful wildlife sites, and we are always looking for more help, so If you'd like more information on conservation volunteering opportunities in Charnwood contact Mark Graham on 01509 634976.
