Charnwood Conservation Volunteers
Interested in Nature? Thinking of becoming a Volunteer? Why not Try Charnwood's Conservation Volunteers
It's official, Nature Conservation Work is good for you. Research carried out by Oxford Brookes University has shown that planting trees, erecting fences, clearing out ponds and controlling wayward vegetation can use up as many calories as a step aerobics class. Not only is the great outdoors a great place toget fit, it’s also a great place to relax. Just being out in the countryside can help to reduce stress levels and, combined with the physical health benefits of exercise, conservation work is a great tonic.
Charnwood Conservation Volunteers take part in a whole range of conservation events throughout the year, working on some of Charnwood's most important wildlife sites. They learn new skills, make new friends and enjoy access to some wonderful wildlife sites, and we are always looking for more help.
We supply all the tools, training and help lead the tasks.
