Community Development Grants

**November 2011 - PLEASE NOTE: The Community Development Grant fund for 2011/12 is now CLOSED.  Applications for Community Engagement Grants however, will still be welcomed.**

The Council has reviewed the revenue grants it provides for community organisations. The grants have now been separated into two parts: Community Development Grants (maximum £15,000) and Community Engagement Grants (maximum £500).

Core Features of the Grants

Type of Funding

Support for projects and on-going activities of voluntary or community organisations. Limited support is also available to individuals to participate in Operation Raleigh or similar ventures overseas.

Who May Apply?

Properly constituted voluntary and community organisations and individuals.

What Are the Limits on the Funding?

Community Development Grants can provide up to £15,000 and Community Engagement Grants up to £500 (£150 for individuals).

What Is the Decision Making Process?

Community Development Grants

The Council's Cabinet determines Community Development Grants and applications are considered in rounds, more details of which are set out in the guidance document.

Community Engagement Grants

The Charnwood Grants Panel (the Panel) determines Community Engagement Grants. The Panel normally meets quarterly and applications can be submitted at any time. Applications are evaluated before being considered by the Panel. Applications will usually be considered at the next meeting following their receipt, although this may not always be possible.

• Tuesday 25 October 2011 (Deadline for Community Engagement applications: Friday 07 October 2011)
• End of January 2012 (Deadline for Community Engagement applications: Early-January 2012)
