Charnwood Borough Council

Charnwood has operates a successful and proactive community college partnership. The partnership comprises of all the community colleges within the borough(Hind Leys Community College, Burleigh College, Rawlins Community College, Longslade Community College, Wreake Community College and Roundhill Community College) and is supported by Leicestershire County Council.

This network contributes to the provision of additional resourses being made available to develop sport at a local level.

The aims of the partnership include:

• Working with PE staff at the colleges and feeder high and primary schools to raise of standards of PE within schools
• To extend the range of opportunities available for the community to become active citizens
• To work with local sports clubs to develop school sports club links
• To develop and maximise the use of facilities
• To provide local coach education / training courses
• To work with the local community groups
