Charnwood Borough Council

Before the Core Strategy can be adopted by the Council it will be subject to a number of stages of preparation and consultation. The Council starting preparing the Core Strategy in 2004 and in February 2006 undertook consultation on the Preferred Options for the Core Strategy. It was intended that the Core Strategy would be formally submited to the Secretary of State later in 2006. In September 2006 the Borough Council's Cabinet decided not to proceed to the next stage of consultation, but instead undertake Further Consultation, which took place in October 2008. This was, amongst others things, to take account of the emerging Regional Plan.
