CONSULTATION PERIOD - 2nd January 2009 - 10th February 2009

At the beginning of 2009 we asked you to Green Flag PhotoHave your say on the draft version of our new look Corporate Plan for 2009-2012 which sets out our vision and plans for Charnwood over the next ten years.

Included in the plan are the Council’s immediate priorities which will be delivered over the next three years and will help form the foundation for the long-term objectives.

Here are some of the changes we made as a result of the comments people made.

There were a number of ways in whcih people could contribute:

  • We held series of exhibitions across the Borough during the consultation period when officers and members of the Council’s Cabinet answered questions and took on board resident’s views.
  • If people weren't able to attend one of these exhibitions they could give us their views by:
  • using the Feedback Form.
  • e-mailing us at consultation@charnwood.gov.uk or ;
  • calling us on (01509) 634 556.

Officers from the Council also took on board the views of residents and partners in developing the Plan before it was drafted, following extensive consultation carried out during the preparation of the Sustainable Community Strategy. However, now that we have brought together all these ideas and views we want to make sure we have got things right.

“This is a plan for our Borough focusing on the immediate priorities for the next three years and the long-term objectives over the next decade.

.

“As such, Councillors are keen to ensure everyone who lives, works or is based in the Borough has the opportunity to put forward their views.

.

“It is a plan for all of us. Councillors want to check that we have got it right.”

.

Cllr Richard Shepherd, the Leader of Charnwood Borough Council

The consultation began on Friday, January 2nd and ended on Tuesday, February 10th

The feedback we have received will be available on this page shortly.

During this process we also gathered views on the budget as the corporate plan has a big influence on the money we spend as a Council and has taken into account budget restrictions due to the current economic climate.
