Jurassic Morning Out!

Make sure you head down to Charnwood Museum if you can over the holidays. I took my three youngest children this morning after we had done the boring shopping bit, and they had a fantastic time with the new dinosaur exhibition that had them occupied for ages! And the best bit - Charnwood Museum is free entry to all!! Then a fabulous walk and play in the glorious Queens Park before we headed home tired and very hot! Spread the word and take a look at what the Museum has to offer this summer. For..

David Attenborough opens Cossington Meadows

When David was a lad, growing up in Leicester he would cycle out to Charnwood Forest frequently - such was his thirst for wild and beautiful places. Charnwood Borough Council was instrumental in creating this beatiful place and its one of my ambitions to see the length of the Soar Valley as a nature reserve and country park.

Listening to Parish and Town Councils

The Community and Partnership Scrutiny Committee is looking at ways of improving the working arrangements with our many Parish and Town Councils. As part of this process meetings have been held with representatives of these councils. We were pleased to hear that Parish and Town Councils are generally, satisfied with what we, as the Borough Council, do. However there is always room for improvement. The report of these meetings is to be discussed at the Scrutiny meeting on July 12th.

Race for Life at Loughborough University

As a member of Loughborough Ladies Circle, I volunteered to help set up on the day and help the runners before and after the race. This is something that National Ladies Circle does every year across the country and this was our 4th year helping at Loughborough. If you would like to know more about Race for Life please click on the link attached.
