East Goscote Scouts - Summer Fete
Fun & Games for all the family! The East Goscote Scouts will be holding their annual Summer Fete on the Jubilee Playing Fields Sunday 8th June, 1pm-5pm. This year there will be plenty going on and you are sure to have a fun day out! Several activities are on offer this year such as; Raffle/Stalls/Games/Prizes/Refreshments/BBQ/Bouncy Castles/Archery and shooting. See you there!

If You See A Stray Dog.....
If you want to report a stray or lost dog, during office hours (Monday - Thursday, 08.30-17.00, Friday, 08.30-16.30) please telephone 01509 634628. Since the police no longer have a responsibility for accepting stray dogs, the Dog Control Officer now provides an out of hours collection and kennelling service from Monday to Sunday 17.00-22.00hrs for stray dogs that have been reported to him and are in the possession of the finder. Stonebow Washlands Appreciation
A damsel fly - just one of the many insects, with birds, wild flowers and beautiful landscapes. On Saturday 31st May, Cllr Roy Campsall, County Councillor Betty Newton and I joined residents on a nature walk of the area called Stonebow Washlands near Mount Grace Road.

New Initiatives for Nanpantan Sports Ground
Cabinet on Thursday 15th May will consider allocating very significant funding to begin the improvements to Nanpantan Sports Ground. This is an important initiative, and future plans include working in co-operation with both the clubs and the Nanpantan Residents - they will all be on an advisory board. Proposed Park at Bottleacre Lane
Council officers have confirmed that the long awaited park at the end of Bottleacre Lane should become a reality by May as they propose to start the work at the end of April. I would like to thank residents who have tirelessly campaigned to ensure that the project came to fruition. It looks like all the hard work will soon be realised. I am asking a question at full council on Monday to ensure that we get an appropriate response and also a definite time line.

On Patrol
As a councillor I have to work a lot on my own initiative. The help of residents, neighbourhood watch and other groups is invaluable. However I would like to pay special thanks to the Police, represented here by one of our local PCSOs, and the new Street Warden service which I set up as Leader of the last administration, on my left Thanks to all.

East Goscote Library
East Goscote Library will be closed for refurbishment from Monday 21st April for approximately 9 weeks. Leicestershire County Council will be providing a reduced service to the village from a mobile library, and books borrowed between the 31st March and the 21st April will be on extended loan until the library reopens. Leicestershire County Council have apologised for the disruption to service and inconvenience caused during the period of closure. Please remember that library cards can be used..

REPORT ON OFF-CAMPUS CAR PARKING
The Report on off-campus car parking now comes before the Charnwood Highways Forum on 2 April. The meeting is at 6.00pm in Rms 2/3 Charnwood Borough Council Offices. You can see the information on www.leics.gov.uk/highways If accepted the matter will come back for exact proposals on 16th July - as you can see from the papers.
