Council Tax Methods of Payment & Instalments
Council Tax is payable over 10 instalments in a full financial year, normally payable from April to January. Arrangements can be made to pay by one annual instalment or two half-yearly instalments.
Payment may be made in a number of ways. Select your preferred option from the list below to find out more:
- DIRECT DEBIT from a bank account.
- IN PERSON by presenting your bar-coded invoice at any Post Office or PayPoint outlet, along with your payment. Cash payments can be made for free at all PayPoint outlets and at the Post Office you can pay by cash, cheque or debit card for free.
- BY TELEPHONE
- ONLINE using a debit or credit card.
- TELE/INTERNET BANKING
Direct Debit is the Council's preferred method of payment for Council Tax. Almost 40,000 Council Tax accounts are now paid by Direct Debit in Charnwood.
