Local Sports Alliance
A Local Sports Alliance (LSA), or Community Sports Network (CSN), is an instrument to enhance communication between partners aspiring to provide an active healthy lifestyle, in addition to catering for the specific needs of the community. The role of a CSN is to enhance the delivery of sporting targets within the local community. This will not only encompass the framework determined by Sport England, but also the needs of the local population
Charnwood's LSA is the Charnwood Sport & Active Recreation Alliance, or CSARA.
The CSARA is a partnership formed to create a voice for sport and active recreation in the Borough of Charnwood. The CSARA has been designed to initiate partnership working between organisations and the community involved in sport and recreation. It is the task of the CSARA to ensure that we can make this possible on a more local level.
The CSARA is made up of sport and physical activity professionals across many delivery agencies including, Charnwood Borough Council, Loughborough University, Loughborough College, Leicestershire County and Rutland Primary Care Trust, Charnwood Arts, Leicestershire County Council Youth Services, the School Sport Partnerships, Charnwood Sports Council and Burleigh College.
The CSARA will be driven by Charnwood Borough Council's Senior Sports Development Officer, who will strengthen the local sport alliances’ links with all partners to achieve the goal of increasing sport and active recreation opportunities for the residents of Charnwood.
