It is important to note that no decisions have been made about the distribution of development. A decision about the location of proposed Sustainable Urban Extensions (consulted on in 2008 in the Core Strategy Further Consultation - Charnwood 2026 Planning for Our Next Generation), the 2012 supplementary options and all other aspects of the Core Strategy will be made by the Borough Council when they consider the Submission Draft Core Strategy.
*The Interim Sustainability Appraisal Report and Leicester and Leicestershire Integrated Transport Modelling Report have been undertaken on the basis of 2008 officer recommendation about the location of proposed Sustainable Urban Extensions within the Borough. Thisis without prejudice to the Cabinet decision on the Pre-Submission Core Strategy later this year.
Officers have reviewed the consultation responses and evidence base and are in the process of preparing a Pre-Submission Draft Core Strategy for Cabinet to consider. If approved, the Pre-Submission Draft Core Strategy will be consulted on for six weeks before it is considered by Full Council for approval to submit the plan to the Secretary of State for examination. There are a number of evidence base studies that have been prepared to inform the preparation of Pre-Submission Draft Core Strategy. Read more about the Core Strategy Evidence Base here.
