If you want to stand in the 3 May local elections as a parish councillor, you will need to complete, sign and return a set of forms by 12 noon on Wednesday 4 April. A timetable, guidance and the necessary forms can all be download here. A brief summary of what each form is for, and who needs to sign it, is also given below.

How to get Nominated

1. Download and print the relevant forms below.
2. Complete the necessary forms, making sure you get the relevant names and signatures required.
3. All Nomination paperwork can be brought to Reception at Southfields Council Offices from 23rd March 2007 but must be delivered no later than 12 noon on Wednesday 4 April 2007.
4. Don't leave it until the last minute in case we have any queries with your nomination.

  Must have the full name & address of the candidate, the parish or parish ward they're standing in, plus the signatures of a proposer and seconder who must be on the Electoral Register in the parish or parish ward the candidate is standing for.

  The form which must be signed by the candidate and a witness declaring he/she consents to being nominated.

  Decisions of case tribunals.

  Disqualification for election and holding office as a member of a local authority.

• Registration of Political Party - Certificate of Authority (PDF Document 7.92 Kb.)

  For the candidate to state whether they are the official candidate for a political party, and if they want the party emblem to appear next to their name on ballot papers. To be signed by the candidate and by the registered nominating officer.
