The Electoral Services Section of the Council organises the annual canvass and update of the Register of Electors together with the organisation of Parish Council, Borough Council, County Council, Parliamentary, European Parliamentary Elections and Referenda held within the Borough.

Referendum on the Alternative Vote System
The national referendum on an alternative vote system will took place on Thursday 5th May 2011 and the results are available on our Referendum results page.
Parish Council Elections
Parish Council elections across the Borough last took place on Thursday 5th May 2011.
Parliamentary Election
The UK Parliamentary election was held on 6 May 2010. Voters in Charnwood elected two MP's, one to represent each of the constituencies in the borough. The constituencies within Charnwood are:

County Council Elections - 4th June 2009
The County Council Elections last took place on 4th June 2009 and included some parish elections.

1. Charnwood County Constituency (70,869) is made up as follows:
- Four wards of the District of Blaby:- Ellis, Fairestone, Forest, Muxloe;
- Twelve wards of the Borough of Charnwood:- Anstey, Birstall Wanlip, Birstall Watermead, East Goscote, Forest Bradgate, Mountsorrel, Queniborough, Rothley and Thurcaston, Syston East, Syston West, Thurmaston, Wreake Villages; and
- One ward of the Borough of Hinckley and Bosworth:- Groby.
2. Loughborough County Constituency (70,983) Is Made Up as Follows:
- Sixteen wards of the Borough of Charnwood:- Barrow and Sileby West, Loughborough Ashby, Loughborough Dishley and Hathern, Loughborough Garendon, Loughborough Hastings, Loughborough Lemyngton, Loughborough Nanpantan, Loughborough Outwoods, Loughborough Shelthorpe, Loughborough Southfields, Loughborough Storer, Quorn and Mountsorrel Castle, Shepshed East, Shepshed West, Sileby, The Wolds.
