Equality and Diversity Consultation

In 2006, The Council redrafted its Corporate Equality and Diversity Documents. These documents set out everything that the Council will do to promote equality and diversity and eradicate unlawful discrimination in the services that we provide and how we employee our staff.

We consulted with our partners and community organisations on the content of the documents (see below for copies) and the proposed actions within the action plans because we acknowledge that we can’t fulfil our vision to promote equality and diversity and eradicate unlawful discrimination on our own. Therefore, the input of our partners and local community organisations is invaluable.

    This is a revision of the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy Adopted in 2003. The opportunity has been taken to review this policy to reflect legislative changes.
