From 1st April 2009 FREE swimming is available for those aged 60 and above, and those of 16 year’s of age and under. This initiative will run for a period of two years to 31^st March 2011.

Free swimming is available during general sessions, swimmers should refer to individual facility swimming programmes for information on session availability. (Links to these facilities are provided below)

Those wishing to take part will be required to register for a swimming card providing proof of status. Cards will then be issued and should be shown at the Council’s three swimming facilities from the 1^st April 2009.

If swimmers visit before receiving a free swimming card, they will be permitted to swim on providing proof of eligibility and asked to complete an application form.

Return completed forms to us at one of the venues listed below, where your registration will be completed:

At Soar Valley Leisure and Loughborough Leisure Centres, cards will be issued immediately whenever possible. At South Charnwood Swimming Pool applications for registration will be processed and cards will be being issued later.

Age for children is 4 years to 16.
