Funding Opportunities

Through the Charnwood Grants scheme, Charnwood Sports Council provides funding through grants for talented athletes, coach education, facility development and sports development (existing and new activities).

Grants are available in the following categories:

• Development Grants to help meet the initial costs of establishing a new club/section or to expand your clubs sporting programmed
• Coach Development Grants to help improve your facilities
• Sports Facility Grants to help improve your facilities
• Talent Support Fund to assist individuals in their pursuit of excellence

Some of the main conditions to be considered are that the organisation:

• Must be based in the Borough of Charnwood
• Must have a written constitution and child protection policy
• Must be voluntary and not constituted for profit
• Must have a membership system which is open to all

Grants have been issued in the past ranging from £50 - £5,000.

Charnwood Sports Council has an executive Committee comprising of representative of affiliated organisations who are elected at the Annual General Meeting held in May each year.
