Housing Register and Transfers
The Housing Register is a list of people who have applied to Charnwood Borough Council to rent council and Housing Association properties.
Anyone who is aged over 18 years can apply to be included on the Housing Register. All applicants who apply to go on our Housing Register will be notified of the decision in writing.
Applicants on the Housing Register are separated into 3 categories, although they are all part of the same Register.
- Waiting List
The Waiting List is for applicants living in private accommodation, i.e. owner occupiers, private tenants, applicants living with friends or relatives of tied accommodation. - Transfer List
The Transfer List is for applicants who currently live in council or Housing Association accommodation within the Borough of Charnwood who need to move. Please contact your Housing Officer or the Housing Needs team for more information. - Homeless List
The Homeless List is for applicants who have nowhere to live or are threatened with homelessness, and who Charnwood Borough Council has accepted a homeless duty to.
