Opening Hours

Normal office hours are from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and from 8.30am to 4.30pm on Friday. Please note that no tickets to see a Customer Advisor will be issued after 4.45pm (4.15pm on Fridays).

On Foot

The Council Offices are located at the southern edge of the town centre, on the south west corner of the junction of A6 Leicester Road with Barrow Street and Southfields Road next to Southfields Park

There are good pedestrian links taking 5 minutes from the town centre including signalised crossings of Woodgate and Southfields Road.

By bicycle

Loughborough has a good and growing network of on and off-road cycle routes although at present none link directly to the Council Offices. Copies of a ‘Charnwood Cycling Map’ showing local routes are available in the Service Shop in the Council Offices and from local libraries.

Covered and secure cycle parking is available near the front entrance to the Offices.

By bus

Loughborough Town Centre is the hub of the local bus network with all main bus stops located on High Street, Market Place and Baxter Gate within about 5 minutes walk of the Council Offices.

Bus Services Information

Bus stops and buses on main routes are provided with Star Trak LED displays counting down the minutes to the departure of the next bus. It is also possible to receive a simple text message on your mobile phone which will give the 'actual' time of the next bus.

By Rail

Loughborough has a rail station located next to the A60 on the eastern edge of the town. It is served by Midland Main Line (MML) trains linking London with Derby, Nottingham, Leeds and Sheffield via Leicester. On weekdays there are about five MML services in each direction every two hours. In addition all Central Trains services running hourly each way between Lincoln, Nottingham and Leicester stop at Loughborough. These services also stop at intermediate stations at Barrow upon Soar, Sileby and Syston.

Directions from the Rail Station to the Council Offices
(20 minute walk, 10 minutes cycle, 5 mins by taxi, 20 minute walk or 5 minutes by bus to the town centre and then 5 minutes walk to the offices)

The shortest route is:

  1. As you exit the Station carry straight on along Nottingham Road/The Coneries
  2. Turn left at the traffic lights into Sparrow Hill and then round to the right into Pinfold Gate
  3. Follow the one way system round to the left into Aumberry Gap and then right into Barrow Street
  4. Go straight ahead at the traffic lights and the Council offices are on your left.

By car

There is limited short stay visitor parking on-site. The 650 space multi storey Beehive Lane car park is located on the opposite side of Southfields Road accessed from Woodgate. There are a number of car parks around the town centre for those undertaking other activities in the town centre.
