Sportivate - Year 2 Activities

Sportivate is a Sport England initiative aimed at getting 14-25 year olds taking part in more sport and physical activity. Sessions can be 6-8 weeks in duration and targets are around getting participants to attend 5/6 sessions, 6/7 session, 7/8 sessions.

The deadline for applications was Monday 5th December 2011, this was for delivery of projects from April 2012 through to March 2013. Groups and clubs have now been told if their application has been successful. For more information on activities please visit:

Invitation to Participate in Holiday Programme

We currently run some sports activities as part of the Holiday Programme. For future programmes we are looking into offering local sports clubs the opportunity to offer activities as part of the Sport and Leisure Holiday Programme. This would enable clubs to recruit new members from the local area and offer children an exit route from the activity to encourage them to continue to take part. We have piloted this with a Martial Arts taster session at South Charnwood Leisure Centre in Syston. This session is run just before the local Tae Kwon-do school meet for there own session. We provide the children with a great opportunity to try the activity and then they get to see the club in action and if they are interested in joining the instructors are on hand to provide all the information required.

 We are hoping that by building strong links between ourselves and the local community groups we will provide quality activities whilst supporting the local sports & leisure groups with growing numbers of participants.
