Charnwood Borough Council

A Local Development Framework (LDF) is being prepared by the Borough Council to set out how the spatial strategy for Charnwood will be delivered. The proper integration of transport and spatial planning is central to the achievement of an effective LDF.

The LDF will need to be consistent with the Local Transport Plans prepared by the City and County Councils the authorities responsible for local transport planning. It is expected to set out the improvements to the transport network that can realistically be provided to support the core planning strategy as well as safeguard potential transport routes justified in the longer term.
