One choice facing older people is whether to remain in their existing home or to consider moving to accommodation designed for older people.

There is a wide range of accommodation for older people ranging from flats providing optional support that is restricted to older people through to sheltered accommodation and extra care schemes for rent along with leasehold and other ownership options.

Support and Advice for Older People

There are a range of support services available for older people, some of which are linked to specialist accommodation but some which can be accessed wherever you live and regardless of the type of home you have.

There are a lot of other services available that are not directly linked to your home but can assist you and ensure that you enjoy your old age as much as you can. Development of Services

Ensuring that the relevant services are available to older people within Charnwood is a priority for the Borough Council.
