Place Survey Spring 2008
What matters to you in your Neighbourhood?
In April 2008 we carried out a survey with a random selection of residents from within our Priority Neighbourhoods (and monitoring areas) within Loughborough, Syston, Thurmaston and Mountsorrel to find out how local people in these areas feel about their neighbourhoods and what their priorities are. The survey covered issues including healthy eating, access to services, community involvement and ASB.
This survey is a pre-cursor to a larger Place Survey in the Autumn which will be carried out by every Council in England. We decided to do this extra survey to test the quesstionnaire in advance and also to collect valuable information about our priority neighbourhoods.
This survey is being carried out by Charnwood Borough Council on behalf of Charnwood Together - a group of organisations (including us) from across the region working together to make the Borough a great place to live and work.
We will take the information that we collect and use it to help us to plan our services so that we make sure that when we are making decisions that affect your local area we consider your views and ideas thoroughly.
If you would like any further information about this survey please do not hesitate to contact us on telephone number 01509 263151 and we will be happy to help. Alternatively you can send an e-mail to us at consultation@charnwood.gov.uk
The key priorities identified by local people included traffic congestion, Transport, Street Cleaning, Parking and Anti-Social Behaviour. The full results of the survey can be viewed below.
