The adopted Local Plan for Charnwood is made up of the Charnwood Local Plan 2011 to 2028 Core Strategy (2015) and the saved policies from the Borough of Charnwood Local Plan (2004).

The Charnwood Local Plan 2011 to 2028 Core Strategy was adopted on November 9, 2015.

Charnwood Local Plan Core Strategy Review - November 2020 

The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) states that policies in local plans and spatial development strategies should be reviewed to assess whether they need updating at least once every five years and should then be updated as necessary. 

Reviews at least every five years are a legal requirement for all local plans (the Town and Country Planning Regulations 2012).
