Collection Days

If you are unsure about when your collection day is you can find out by entering your postcode in to My Charnwood where you will find bin collection dates relevant to your area, together with your nearest recycling points.

In 2008/09. the residents of Charnwood recycled, re-used or composted 42% of their household waste (subject to audit). This is a fantastic improvement on the previous year's figure of 39.24%. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this achievement, and lets continue working towards improvements this year.

Coming Soon - a new recycling service for used wearable clothing and household linen. From 12th January 2010, a new service begins with Mind, the mental health charity. You may already have received a white Mind recycling sack through your letterbox. Please hang on to this over Christmas, and from the 12th January onwards, these bags of textiles will be collected from the kerbside on each recycling day.

All the recyclables collectected from the kerbside are taken to Leicester Paper Processors. Here, the recyclables are sorted, baled and shipped off to reprocessors to be made into new products.
