Renovation Grants

semi for phousingRenovation Grants are available to owner occupiers and in some cases, tenants and landlords. A grant can only be applied for if the property is in one of the Council's priority action areas. All grants are subject to means tests, which means that you will have to provide financial details.

For more detailed information, please click on the link below for guidance notes.

Already Applied for a Grant?

If you have received a Test of Resources form and need assistance completing it ,then you can contact us on the number below or see the guidance notes, which explain how to complete the form.

Test of Resources Guidance

If you have received the results of the means test and wish to continue with the application, you should contact us to make an appointment for a Grant Officer to visit the property.

You should also note that if you have any contribution towards the work, the work required costs more than the maximum grant amount, or you are having extra work undertaken that cannot be included in a grant scheme, you will have to pay the money directly to the contractor.

Please note that due to current budget commitment levels, we are unable to accept new Renovation Grant enquiries at this time. If, however, you have concerns about conditions in your home that pose an imminent risk to your health and/or safety, then please contact the Private Sector Housing Team for further information.
