Loughborough Retail and Leisure Study 2003

Charnwood Borough Council commissioned DTZ to undertake a Retail and Leisure Study for Loughborough Town Centre to feed into the review of the Local Plan.

The main objectives of the study were to advise on the capacity for retail and leisure development within Loughborough Town Centre, the future role of Loughborough town centre in the longer term. It also provided information about the shopping and leisure habits across the Borough and the perceptions of Loughborough as a retail and leisure destination.

The study was published in 2003 and is available to view below:

It was published in August 2007.

Market Town Benchmarking

Town Benchmarking is a research methodology developed by market town partnerships and Action for Market Towns in 2006.  The process provides a comprehensive portrait of the commercial life of the town and involves gathering and analysing data on 12 Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) within a designated town centre area.  The analysis provides data on each KPI for individual towns.
